Interfaith Partnership
​for the Homeless (IPH)


IPH’s year-round emergency shelter provides a safe and supportive setting for 30 homeless adults each night. In addition to temporary shelter, guests receive individualized, supportive case management services that focus on removing barriers to housing stability and addressing self-identified needs and goals.

New Scotland
​Community Food Pantry


The New Scotland Community Food Pantry is a community-based service. Our purpose is to assist in the basic needs of the poor and elderly; serve as an advocate for the poor; and solicit necessary funds for assistance, as needs arise.

​Our principal function is to provide food and basic personal care items to those in need within the Town of New Scotland, including the geographic area comprising the Voorheesville School District.

Neighbors Helping Neighbors


The annual springtime event promotes neighbors helping
neighbors, matching volunteers with projects that assist
our senior citizen community members and others
in need in the town of New Scotland with yard
​work and other light projects.

Volunteers also assist with sprucing up the local environment
through park and road clean-ups. With the support of the
Town of New Scotland, the event is organized by a
dedicated group of volunteers, and co-sponsored by the
New Scotland Kiwanis Club and
Voorheesville High School Key Club.

South End Children's Cafe

The mission of the South End Children's Cafe is to impact food security, address food equality and food justice, enhance academic success and positively influence the physical and mental health of children by offering free, healthy meals along with homework help, academic enrichment, mentoring, exercise, and the arts.

Presbyterian Hunger Program
​"Cents-Ability"


Cents-Ability is one way that families, congregations, and presbyteries can support the battle against hunger and poverty. Every member is invited to contribute a few cents at every meal. Funds are then used to support local hunger ministries, as well as national and international projects through the Presbyterian Hunger Program.

Gifts to this fund help ensure every church has a seminary-trained
pastor. The fund is housed at the Presbyterian Foundation
and is the sole source of denomination-wide funding
​for seminaries in the PC(USA).

and business owners. We support farmers and their communities 
as they mobilize and envision their futures, provide training so they can improve the quantity and quality of the goods they produce, ​and connections to market to increase sales and incomes.

Emergency Overflow Shelter


 CACC's mission is to be a refuge of last resort during the coldest months of the year; to provide simple hospitality; a bed, and a meal on a daily basis; and to serve people who have no other shelter options in Albany County. In addition, we refer guests to other service providers to offer options for housing, employment, counseling, entitlements, and addictions and health services.

Drawing on the compassion of our Capital Region community,
we deliver and support programs that directly improve the health
and well-being of children and families. All of our services, from meals
and overnight accommodations to one-of-a-kind retreat experiences,
are provided completely free of charge. We help families stay together,
​close to the care they need, so they can focus solely on what matters most.

Five Rivers Environmental
​Education Center


Five Rivers Environmental Education Center is a living museum comprising over 450 acres of fields, forests,
and wetlands. Located in the Capital District, the center provides a variety of easily accessible programs and services for individuals, families and organized groups. In recognition of outstanding interpretive programming, the National Park Service has ​designated Five Rivers a
​National Environmental Study Area.

CROP Walk

The annual CROP Walk is a celebration to fight hunger locally and overseas. Walkers find sponsors for a financial pledge. The event is held
the first Sunday in May. They fight against disease, disaster, displacement
​and other challenges that leave people hungry.
