Our Office Hours are
Tuesday through Friday, 9 to noon. Our Sunday worship service is at 10:00 a.m. in person. After worship we have a time for fellowship. Please see our announcements (opposite) for our joint summer worship schedule for July 23 & 30 and August 1 and 8. The CDC currently rates Albany County with low community spread, so masks not required. The middle pews are open. The side pews (next to the windows) are taped off for those who would like to maintain social distancing. No objects, like offering plates or communion elements, are being passed hand-to-hand. If you cannot join us in person, recorded worship from previous weeks is available (see below). ![]()

This Sunday we are pleased to welcome to the pulpit Pastor Katy Stenta. Katy has been a pastor for 13 years, and previously served as pastor of New Covenant Presbyterian Church. She is currently Vice Moderator for Albany Presbytery. She also all but dissertation for her Doctorate in Creative Writing as a Public Theologian in Mr. Roger’s alma mater Pittsburgh Theological Seminary. She also leads prayer writing workshops on Zoom. Today we are happy to celebrate a membership anniversary for Diane B. (50 years). November Mission: The Emergency Homeless Shelter, operated by the Capital Area Council of Churches (CACC), is our November mission. Their purpose is to be a refuge of last resort during the coldest months of the year; to provide simple hospitality; a bed, and a meal on a daily basis; and to serve people who have no other shelter options in Albany County. In addition, we refer guests to other service providers to offer options for housing, employment, counseling, entitlements, and addictions and health services. This Sunday after worship: Hymnal Angel Workshop. Our own angel, Brenda Dwyer, is going to teach us how to craft a hymnal angel after worship in the fellowship room. All ages welcome! Sign up sheet is on the bulletin board. Don’t miss this fun event! Today, FREE Turkey Dinner from noon to 4:00 pm. The Voorheesville American Legion Post 1493 will be holding its annual free dinner today. The menu features turkey, ham, and all the fixings, including beverages and dessert. People can eat their meal at the legion hall, on Voorheesville Avenue, or take the food to go. All are welcome. Thursday and Friday, November 23 and 24: The church office will be closed for the Thanksgiving holiday. We will resume our normal office hours, Tuesday through Friday, 9 to noon, on Tuesday, November 28. Next Sunday, November 26, is our monthly collection for New Scotland Community Food Pantry. There will be a box in the lobby to accept your donations of non-perishable food items, paper goods, or personal care products. Presently, they are especially in need of canned fruit and vegetables, boxes of Jello and pudding, snacks, and juice boxes for kids. There will also be a basket for money contributions. All money collected goes to Heifer Project and the New Scotland Community Food Pantry. There remains an URGENT need for client-caregivers. A caregiver is responsible for meeting with clients at the pantry on a monthly basis to allow them to "shop" (at no cost) for food in private. This would involve a commitment of 1-2 hours a month. If interested, call the Hot Line 518 765-3806 for more information. Sunday, November 26, Laity Sunday: The service will be led by members of the congregation. The theme is “thanksgiving.” If you are willing to help, see Dorothy Kohler or Bonnie O’Shea. Everyone is invited & encouraged to worship on this special day! Friday, December 8: The Mendelssohn Club of Albany will be performing their holiday concert entitled Favorite Holiday Songs on Friday, December 8 at 7:30 pm at The Egg, Empire State Plaza. The concert will feature seasonal songs and traditional Christmas carols. Special guests include “Vocal Point” (from South Glens Falls High School), Betsy Stambach-Fuller (Director) and soprano Carla Fisk. Group tickets cost $20. See John Griffin for more information. Tuesday, December 19 at 7:00 pm, The Friendship Singers of Delmar will perform here at our church! The director of this popular local women’s group is Marie Liddle; piano accompaniment Peg Dorgan. We’re hoping to spread a little Christmas cheer with old favorites, and reconnect with friends. All are welcome to join the fun! Fair Trade items are for sale in the dining room. All items are at cost and include coffee, tea, chocolate and olive oil. Check out the bins on the Fair Trade table! |

"Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, Rejoice. Let your gentleness be known to everyone. The Lord is near. Do not worry about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Finally, beloved, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is pleasing, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence and if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. Keep on doing the things that you have learned and received and heard and seen in me, and the God of peace will be with you."
