November 30, 2025 Announcements
This Sunday we welcome to the pulpit the Reverend Andrea Holroyd. Andrea received her Master of Divinity from Colgate Rochester Crozer Divinity School in 2010, and a Bachelor of Science from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 2007. Coming from a musical family, Andrea enjoys incorporating music with preaching to enhance the spiritual and cognitive. Andrea is active in the Albany Presbytery, currently serving as the Assistant Stated Clerk, as well as serving as a commissioner from Albany to the Synod of the Northeast. She also participates in folk music and dance in New York State and Western Massachusetts. In seminary, Andrea was exposed to the writings of Walter Rauschenbusch. His interpretation of the social gospel at the previous turn of the century was both familiar theology as well as influential to Andrea’s preaching and teaching. The Sanctuary Christmas Tree is up and everyone is invited to stay after the service this Sunday and help decorate it on this first day of Advent! Nativity Luncheon, Tuesday, December 9, 12:00 - 2:00 pm. If you are sharing a nativity set, please bring it to church on or before Sunday, December 7. Make sure to have your name and other information so a label can be made for display. New Scotland Community Food Pantry: With holidays and food assistance changes, we are giving extra support to our neighbors. The donation box is in the lobby every week to accept your donations. There is also a basket for monetary contributions. Updated Church Directory of Members & Friends is available for pick up on entranceway table. This is the last Sunday to contribute to our November Mission, the Capital Area Council of Churches Emergency Overflow Shelter. This mission is a refuge of last resort during the coldest months; to provide simple hospitality; a bed, and a meal; and to serve people who have no other shelter options in Albany County. In addition, they refer guests to other providers to offer options for housing, employment, counseling, entitlements, addictions and health services.
