February 15, 2026 Announcements
We welcome the Rev. David Bennett, to our Annual Congregational Meeting today. The meeting will be held immediately following worship, and we review the 2025 Annual Report, elect new officers, and approve the pastor’s terms of call. Last year, several questions were raised at the meeting and we invited Rob Trawick, Executive Presbyter, and David, Stated Clerk of the Presbytery, a few weeks later to answer those questions. We are grateful that David is here today as a follow-up. We hope everyone will plan to attend this important meeting. Our potluck fellowship will follow the Annual Meeting. Joint Ash Wednesday Service: This year we join Delmar Presbyterian Church for worship, including the imposition of ashes, on February 18 at 7:00 pm. Join us in person at 585 Delaware Ave, or watch the livestream on the DPC Facebook page. If you are planning to join us from home and want ashes for the service, please see Pastor Holly. Joint Lenten Devotional Group: Starting this Tuesday, February 17, and for the Tuesdays of Lent, we will be joining with Voorheesville Methodist to explore this year’s Lenten booklet, “Tell Me Something Good: Grounding Ourselves in the Good News This Lent.” We meet at 6:00 pm in a hybrid format, in person at the Methodist Church, 68 Maple Ave, and on Zoom (see Pastor Holly for link). Each week looks at the scripture readings for the coming Sunday, using commentary and art. You do not have to commit to the entire series; join us each week as you are able. Copies of the booklet are on the lobby table, and all are welcome to take a copy, whether you will join the group or not. Lent Devotional Cards: We have daily devotional cards for the season of Lent; each day has a reflection question and a prayer. Cards are on the lobby table and all are welcome to take a set! Our February Mission is Interfaith Partnership for the Homeless (IPH). IPH addresses the homeless and low-income community, providing a continuum of services to encourage self-sufficiency, empowerment, and stability. IPH's Safe Haven Program is open every night from November through March and during many weekend days regardless of the temperature. New Scotland Community Food Pantry: There is a box in the lobby to accept your donations of non-perishable food items, paper goods, or personal care products. Their present needs are snacks, Jello/pudding, ketchup, and laundry detergent. Money in the basket goes to Heifer Project International and the food pantry. The memorial service for Carl George has been postponed to a later date, TBA. Volunteers needed to host fellowship hour. Sign up sheet on bulletin board. Fair Trade: We have a variety of coffee, tea, chocolate bars, chocolate chips, pecans, and olive oil. All items sold at cost. Check out the table downstairs! The Church office will be closed on Monday and Tuesday, February 16 and 17 in observation of the Presidents’ Day holiday. We will resume our normal office hours (9 to noon, Tuesday - Friday) on Wednesday, February 18. |
