Our Office is open Tuesday through Friday, 9 to noon.
Our Sunday worship service is at 10:00 a.m. in person. After worship we have a time for fellowship. The CDC currently rates Albany County with medium community spread, so masks are recommended, not required, indoors. The middle pews are open. The side pews (next to the windows) are taped off for those who would like to maintain social distancing. No objects, like offering plates or communion elements, are being passed hand-to-hand. If you cannot join us in person, recorded worship from previous weeks is available (see below). |

February 5, 2023 Announcements
Our February mission is Pennies for Haven (Homeless, not hopeless). All money collected will be given to IPH. IPH (formally known as Interfaith Partnership for the Homeless) is located on Sheridan Avenue in downtown Albany. IPH was founded in 1984 as Interfaith Partnership for the Homeless by the Capital Area Council of Churches and is a designated 501c(3) non-profit organization. Beginning as a provider of emergency shelter for single adults, IPH has expanded its non-denominational programming to include a continuum of services that assist over 2500 homeless and at-risk individuals and families each year. Lenten Reflection Group – join the Rev. Cameron for the five Wednesdays of March to reflect on the Bible readings and Lenten devotional for that week. Each week is a stand-alone time, so you do not have to commit to all five Wednesdays. We will be meeting at 5:30 p.m. on Zoom, so please let the Rev. Cameron know if you are interested so you can get the Zoom link. Please join us for the Joint Worship Ash Wednesday Service, February 22, 7:00 pm at Delmar Presbyterian, 585 Delaware Avenue. The service is in person and will also be live-streamed. Pot Luck Coffee Hour: We will have a “pot luck” time of Fellowship downstairs after our Sunday service on the third Sunday of each month. Coffee, tea, juice and paper goods will be set up as usual, but we ask all who wish to bring a small edible contribution to share with everyone. It doesn’t have to be fancy, just something easy to nibble on. Our first community fellowship will be on Sunday, February 19. Calling Tree: In the past, we have activated a calling tree if we needed to cancel worship for inclement weather. We now post cancellations on the church website, on the outgoing phone message, and we send an email to those who receive the weekly email. If you would still like to receive a phone call, please contact the church office. On Saturday, February 25 from 9:00 to 10:30 am, volunteers from around Albany Presbytery will sort and organize donations at the Northeast Regional Food Bank, 965 Albany-Shaker Road in Latham. This is a great way to learn about this vital resource, and also a chance to meet mission-minded folks from sister churches. Volunteers should wear sturdy shoes and clothing that can get dirty. Everyone must be able to lift and carry 30-45 lbs. Spaces are limited. To inquire or participate, email Rev. Ted Wright: missions@albanypresbytery.org Fair Trade items are for sale in the dining room. All items are at cost and include coffee, tea, chocolate and olive oil. Check out the bins on the Fair Trade table! See Margaret Ewart for more information. |

"Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, Rejoice. Let your gentleness be known to everyone. The Lord is near. Do not worry about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Finally, beloved, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is pleasing, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence and if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. Keep on doing the things that you have learned and received and heard and seen in me, and the God of peace will be with you."
